Assisted Living at Riverside Care Group

Join Us as a Companion

Warmth, reliability and genuine care matter more than formal qualifications.

We welcome companions who have a kind nature, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting older adults. Experience is helpful but not essential what matters most is your attitude, your values, and your commitment to safe practice.

What We Need From You

To work as a companion, you must provide:

  • CV showing your background and any relevant experience
  • Enhanced DBS certificate (on the Update Service or willing to apply)
  • Proof of ID and Right to Work in the UK
  • Two references (character or employment)
  • Willingness to complete safeguarding training

We do not require care qualifications because this is a non‑medical companionship role.

Training We Provide

All companions receive essential UK safeguarding training, including:

  • Safeguarding Adults
  • Lone Working & Personal Safety
  • Risk Awareness
  • Boundaries & Professional Conduct
  • Financial Abuse Prevention
  • Confidentiality & GDPR
  • Basic First Aid (if you do not already have it)

This ensures you feel confident, safe and supported in your role.

What Makes a Great Companion

We look for people who are:

  • Warm, friendly and reliable
  • Good communicators
  • Respectful of boundaries
  • Trustworthy and patient
  • Passionate about supporting older adults
  • Able to work independently and safely

Your love for helping people is the most important qualification.

How We Work With You

We match you with clients based on:

  • Personality fit
  • Interests and hobbies
  • Availability
  • Location
  • Any relevant risks or support needs

We stay in regular contact, provide guidance, and ensure you always feel supported when working alone.
